The diagnostic approach at Si-Yi Clinic is to clarify the medical history, imaging, and past treatments one by one: which directions have been ruled out, and which require further investigation.

Please bring complete information, so that the doctor can rule out several pain factors during the first consultation. If any documents are missing, the same examinations will have to be scheduled and redone, meaning consultation time will be spent on compiling missing documents and re-inquiring about medical history.

What Information to Bring for Your First Visit

Imaging is the most important to prepare.
For X-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs, or CTs done at other clinics or hospitals in the past one to two years, please request the imaging CD and written report from the original facility. Most hospitals can provide this information on the same day or within a few business days.

Next is the list of medications, including painkillers, medications for chronic diseases, and health supplements. It is fine if you cannot remember the names; you can directly take photos of the medicine bags and drug information to the consultation room.

Third is the treatment record: what treatments have been received in the past (orthopedics, rehabilitation, shockwave, PRP, hyaluronic acid, steroid injections, needle knife, etc.), approximately when they were done, and whether there was any change afterwards. Write down as much as you can recall, and the doctor will verify the rest with you during the consultation.

How to Describe Your Pain so the Doctor Can Best Assist You

Before your visit, think about and record these details to bring to the clinic, which will make the consultation much faster: where does it hurt, what movements or postures trigger it, how long has it been hurting, does it wake you up at night, what previous treatments were effective, and what did not work. There is no need to memorize a script; these are simply the directions the doctor will ask about.

The consultation starts with the inquiry, taking at least 10 to 15 minutes for each new patient. This is followed by a physical examination, and based on the doctor's assessment, dynamic X-rays or high-resolution ultrasound will be arranged. Most examinations can be completed on the same day.
After the examination, the doctor will explain the current assessment, what still needs to be clarified, and feasible courses of action. Whether to schedule treatment and which method to use will be discussed and decided with you following the doctor's evaluation.

Fees

Pain Special Clinic and Endogenous Stem Cell Special Clinic: Initial visit NT$3,000 (includes high-resolution ultrasound imaging, X-ray imaging, physical examination, and detailed consultation); follow-up visit NT$1,500.
Men's Function Special Clinic and Cardiovascular Health Special Clinic: Initial visit NT$1,500, follow-up visit NT$800.

Can I come directly without an imaging CD?
Yes, you can. The doctor will determine what imaging is required based on the consultation and physical examination. Most X-rays and high-resolution ultrasounds can be completed in-house on the same day. However, it is still recommended to bring past imaging later for comparative analysis.

Can I directly request to undergo C-TAME (Transcatheter Arterial Microembolization)?
The purpose of the initial visit is to first confirm the cause of the pain. Whether any treatment is suitable, including microvascular embolization, requires a consultation, physical examination, and imaging evaluation to be discussed and decided with you after the doctor's assessment.
